The federal discount for every Enphase size, at $39 per certificate and the 6.8 factor that applies to installs to 31 December 2026. The installer claims the certificates and shows the discount as a line on the quote. From 1 January 2027 the factor drops to 5.7, which is the last column.

Above 14 kWh each extra kilowatt-hour earns 60 per cent of the factor and above 28 kWh 15 per cent, so the per-kWh value falls on the larger stacks. The number that matters on a quote is the retention percentage and the throughput cap together: a battery cycled once a day for ten years delivers about 18 MWh from 5 kWh, which is the scale the throughput caps are set at.
What an Enphase IQ Battery pairs with
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP). AC-coupled: six grid-forming IQ8D-BAT microinverters inside each 5 kWh unit, so it works with any existing solar system.
Each IQ Battery 5P carries its own microinverters and delivers 3.84 kW continuous (7.68 kVA for three seconds), so it AC-couples to any solar system, new or old, without a hybrid inverter; backup needs the IQ System Controller 3, sold separately.
