What an AlphaESS SMILE costs in October 2026
AlphaESS publishes no Australian list price for the SMILE series and no public shop page we read carries one, so the only public anchors are the installed figures dated guides publish and the federal discount, which is set by usable capacity at $39 per certificate and is the same whoever installs it.

Federal discount on each AlphaESS size: 4 to 20.2 kWh
The federal discount for every AlphaESS size, at $39 per certificate and the 6.8 factor that applies to installs to 31 December 2026. The installer claims the certificates and shows the discount as a line on the quote. From 1 January 2027 the factor drops to 5.7, which is the last column.

Above 14 kWh each extra kilowatt-hour earns 60 per cent of the factor and above 28 kWh 15 per cent, so the per-kWh value falls on the larger stacks. AlphaESS SMILE warranty terms
10 years, with at least 70 per cent of usable capacity at the end of it. Cycles or throughput: throughput capped at 3.12 MWh per kWh of usable capacity (about 31.5 MWh on a 10.1 kWh module). Warranty starts at installation or the 365th day after manufacture, whichever is earlier; installer must hold a valid Alpha InstallerID. The number that matters on a quote is the retention percentage and the throughput cap together: a battery cycled once a day for ten years delivers about 15 MWh from 4 kWh, which is the scale the throughput caps are set at.
What an AlphaESS SMILE pairs with
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP). All-in-one hybrid inverter plus battery (SMILE-G3-S5, SMILE5) or AC-coupled battery inverter (SMILE-B3 Plus, SMILE-B5) with 4.0, 5, 8.2, 10.1 and 13.3 kWh battery modules.

AlphaESS prices the hardware nationally, and the federal discount is the same in every state, so what changes by city is the solar system the battery sits with and the state support.
