Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED: FEBRUARY 2026
1. About SolarScorecard
SolarScorecard.com.au ("the Service") is operated by SolarScorecard Pty Ltd (ABN XX XXX XXX XXX). The Service provides a free solar analysis tool that generates personalised solar scores for Australian homeowners, along with educational content about solar energy, and an optional installer matching service.
2. Use of the Service
The Service is provided free of charge to residential users in Australia. By using the Service, you agree to provide accurate information when completing the solar scorecard. Providing intentionally false information may result in inaccurate results.
You must be at least 18 years old to request installer quotes through the Service. There is no age restriction for using the scorecard tool or viewing educational content.
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to interfere with the operation of the Service, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or to scrape or extract data from the Service for commercial purposes.
3. Solar Score & Estimates
The solar score, savings estimates, system recommendations, and cost estimates provided by the Service are indicative only. They are based on general data for your area and the information you provide, and should not be treated as a guaranteed outcome.
Actual solar performance, savings, and costs depend on many factors including specific roof characteristics, shading, panel and inverter selection, installer pricing, electricity tariff changes, weather patterns, and household usage patterns.
For accurate quotes and system design, we recommend obtaining a professional site assessment from a qualified solar installer. The Service is designed to help you understand your solar potential and make informed decisions — not to replace professional advice.
4. Installer Matching
If you choose to request installer quotes through the Service, we will share your scorecard data and contact details with up to 3 CEC-accredited solar installers in your area.
SolarScorecard is a referral service. We are not a solar installer, retailer, or contractor. We do not install solar systems, provide warranties on solar equipment, or guarantee the quality of work performed by any installer.
While we vet all installers in our network for CEC accreditation, insurance, and track record, the contract for any solar installation is between you and the installer directly. We encourage you to independently verify any installer's credentials and compare multiple quotes before proceeding.
We are not responsible for the actions, omissions, or performance of any installer, including the quality of installation work, product warranties, or post-installation support.
5. Data & Content Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to ensure all data, including electricity rates, rebate values, STC prices, and system costs, is current and accurate. However, these values change regularly and we cannot guarantee they are always up to date.
Rebate eligibility depends on your individual circumstances. Our scorecard provides general guidance but is not a definitive eligibility assessment. Please check with the relevant government authority for confirmed eligibility.
Educational content on the Site is general in nature and should not be treated as financial, legal, or professional advice.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on SolarScorecard.com.au, including text, design, graphics, logos, and the scoring algorithm, is owned by SolarScorecard Pty Ltd and is protected by Australian copyright law.
You may share links to our content and reference our work with attribution. You may not reproduce, copy, or repurpose substantial portions of our content without written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, SolarScorecard Pty Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, reliance on any estimates or recommendations provided, any actions taken based on the solar score, or any dealings with installers introduced through the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for any guarantees, conditions, or warranties that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will indicate the date of the last revision at the top of this page.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
10. Contact
For any questions about these terms, please contact us at legal@solarscorecard.com.au.
