Solar Analysis, Not Sales Pitches

Every solar website in Australia does the same thing: "Fill in a form, get 3 quotes, wait for phone calls." They don't tell you anything useful first — they just collect your details and pass them on.

We thought that was backwards. You should understand your home's solar potential before you talk to anyone. That's why we built SolarScorecard — a free tool that gives you a personalised, data-driven solar analysis in 60 seconds.

No phone calls unless you want them. No spam ever. Just honest numbers about what solar could do for your home.

What We Believe

Education Before Sales

Homeowners make better decisions when they understand the numbers first. Our scorecard gives you sun exposure data, savings estimates, rebate breakdowns, and system recommendations — all before you talk to a single installer.

Real Data, Not Guesswork

Our scoring algorithm uses Bureau of Meteorology sun hours data, current electricity tariff rates by state, live STC rebate values from the Clean Energy Regulator, and actual system cost data. Every number in your scorecard is grounded in real data.

Transparency About How We Make Money

SolarScorecard is free for homeowners. We make money by connecting homeowners with vetted installers — installers pay us for qualified leads. This means our incentive is to give you the most accurate score possible, because better-informed homeowners make better customers for installers.

Quality Over Quantity

We don't work with every installer who applies. Every installer in our network is CEC-accredited, locally based, and has a verified track record. We'd rather send you to 3 great installers than 10 mediocre ones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is behind SolarScorecard?

SolarScorecard was built by a small Australian team passionate about making solar accessible. We're based in Melbourne and focused entirely on helping homeowners make informed solar decisions with transparent, data-driven tools.

Is SolarScorecard affiliated with any solar company?

No. SolarScorecard is an independent platform. We don't manufacture, sell, or install solar panels. Our revenue comes from referral fees when homeowners optionally choose to connect with vetted installers through our platform.

How does SolarScorecard make money?

We charge installers a referral fee when a homeowner requests quotes through our platform. The scorecard tool, guides, and all educational content are completely free for homeowners — no hidden costs or upsells.

Can I trust the solar score results?

Our scoring algorithm uses real Australian Bureau of Meteorology sun data, current electricity rates, and up-to-date rebate information. While no online tool replaces a professional site assessment, our scores provide a reliable first estimate.
